Did you know there is a secret garden cemetery of delights in your doorstep? A place of verdant beauty. 10 hectares of streams, trees, flowers, birds and of course butterflies. This historic site is a quiet haven for nature and history, on par with the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery... but with more trees and wildlife!
Be enchanted by our eco-tour showing the vast array of butterflies, their nectar (their dinner time) and host plants (where they lay their eggs… butterflies are very picky!). Our lovely team of specialists will run the fun workshops, our artists will help you draw, and we will get you planting butterfly-friendly flowers.
We will have bubbles and crayons for toddlers!
Plus colouring-in and drawing with our artists from nature.
Gavin Coates our renowned storybook writer will give us a participatory story-telling session about trees. Then we will create tree hats with Gavin! Bring out the creative talents of the whole family!
Earthy will be there for kids, story telling round the old fountain.
Martin Williams, amazing photographer and outdoor expert, has tips on taking great pictures.
John Allcock – a leading ornithologist will tell us about the Drongo! Silly name but lovely bird.
KC’s fun history and animal tour will tell us about the dog named Tango, a horse and a fierce tiger.
Have your face painted – we all will!
A rare chance to see inside the old Chapel from 1845 (the oldest Western building in Hong Kong!) with a stunning marble floor and a small exhibition of works from Kew Gardens Archives.
John Fleming talks about the deadly Chinese Gunfight he managed to escape from in 1953.
We even have Plastic Ocean Foundation - giving a fun ‘plastic hunt for kids’!
Please let us know if you wish to reserve a parking spot in our carpark.
Bring a packed lunch if you are coming for the whole day, or snacks and drinks as needed.
Nature is on your doorstep! So wear a hat if it’s hot and a mat if you wish. You can also bring buggies and wheelchairs. There is access. All ages are welcome.
Come and join us! It’s the best time of year.
